Despite the fact that Santa Claus stands in front of every Kentucky Fried Chicken and holiday decorations spill out of every department store there are no candy canes to be found in this country. Where, I ask, are the craft project reindeer, the ubiquitous Christmas party favors, the best edible ornaments of the season? Of all the things that represent the holidays, how could Japan neglect candy canes?
