heart of a newt, eye of a fish...

What is your favorite part of a fish? The delicate meat between the bones? The salt covered crunchy tail? Today I learned that the part of the fish most fought over among siblings at the dinner table is….the eyes. Yes, that’s the eyeballs. When cooked, the chewy center and gooey outsides become the perfect snack to be plucked out of the fish’s head with your chopsticks and popped into your mouth. But I think I’ll leave it to the Japanese children.
