where do you come from?

Occasionally, people visit my website. Some of them I know. Others come from searches. Here are the most popular ways in which people are directed here:

1. Searching for pictures of maiko:: Maiko are young Japanese women who are training to become geisha, who are the preservers and practitioners of traditional Kyoto culture, music, language, and dance. I used to be friends with one in Kyoto. However, it is not her picture that people will see when they come to my website. No, it is a friend of mine from Kyoto whose name is Maiko. I wonder how many people are disappointed when they end up here?

2. Searching for information about japanese snowmen:: These little snow sculptures are composed of only their head and body. Apparently, other people wonder where the legs are as well.

3. Linked from Jason Moore:: If you want to see good photography, learn about good photographers, and read all about how you can be that good, check out Jason’s website. He gets a lot of traffic to his page, and a few of his readers sometimes visit mine as well. Thanks for linking to me, Jason!

4. Random searches for:: lipstick, Arima, Japan, Vietnam, Halong Bay, noodles, croutons (!?), non-smoking restaurants in Osaka, and hardest word to remember.
