Sam and I started our weekend on Wednesday when we headed over to Bloomington to meet up with some friends and stock up on organic food products. On Thursday we moved up the state to Muncie, where we spent the afternoon with Sam's family and I got a little nostalgic walking past the Academy.
We arrived at Poultry days bright and early on Friday morning. The IU contingency is by far the most enthusiastic of the Poultry Days teams. A good fifteen had already shown up on Thursday night and had tents pitched and camping area marked with caution tape.
And now I shall list the memorable things about Poultry Days.
hard-boiled egg eating contest (the IU competitor ate 20, the winner ate 21)
raffle (I won a pair of expensive cleats!)
chicken dinner (decent, but not as good as everyone says)
showers in the high school locker room
funnel cake
bingo
Miss Chick (this year's winner had broken her ankle)
All Star Game (they carried Miss Chick around the field)
camping
Poultry Days documentary
IGA
bicycling around small town
2-2 on Saturday, lost in the first round on Sunday
HoosierChicken?
Karst Farm All Stars
layout practice into an inflatable pool
beer
meeting and playing with all the old IU players
All in all, a good weekend of Ultimate.
