Potlatch 2008 pictures are finally up! Here!
Potlatch this year was just as fun as last year, only it was one day longer. It is only fitting that my first three day tournament be the greatest of all tournaments. Some highlights:
-We were driving down the street in northern Seattle Wednesday night when we saw a large paper mache submarine walking down the sidewalk. On Thursday, when we got to the fields, it was there, complete with beer bongs coming out the top. They had walked what is a 30 minute car ride on the interstate all the way to Potlatch!
-A team we played, South of the Border, nominated me for a lap dance given by two of their team members. Oh yeah.
-Our team gift is the communal drinking of a 2 liter glass boot filled with beer. It goes with us everywhere, including the party at the Red Hook Brewery. For the past two years, it has had special permission to enter. The security guards recognize our captain. An hour into the party, a different security guard comes over and orders us to take it out of the party, accusing our captain of sneaking it in. Later on in the evening, the head police officer at the party asks our captain, "Where's the boot?" and gets angry when he is told it was taken away. We hear that the cop went and chewed out the crappy security guard. Yay boot!
-We only won one game all weekend. But that's okay, because we had a great time doing it, and the tournament director complimented us on our spirit.
Pictures from Seattle will be up in the next couple of days. I promise.
