crochet, not croquet

There's a lot of time I spend in the truck on the way to Ultimate tournaments. It's a lot of time doing nothing, and I am the kind of person who likes to be doing something. So for the past few trips I have given myself a project - crocheting a hat.

The first try was not at all right, so I took it out. The second try I followed the directions much more closely and behold, I have made a winter hat. It's not perfect (one edge is longer than the other) and it's not beautiful, but it is functional, if only for keeping my head warm in our chilly house.
