spicy

One thing I've learned about gardening lately is that it doesn't have to end once the summer is over. There are plenty of foods you can grow in the fall and winter! Lettuce, spinach, radishes, and other leafy vegetables are just a few.

I tried to start some lettuce, but I think the seeds I was given were a little old, so they didn't do anything. The radishes, however, are taking off. When I thin them out, I replant a few to grow and eat the rest as spicy sprouts on my salads.

I've tried growing herbs in my window, but we don't get enough sun. All we have are chili peppers that are too hot to eat, but look cute. How do radishes do in the shade?

Right now, my radishes are still out on my back porch, so they are getting plenty of sunlight. In a few weeks, though, I'll have to move them in to a more shaded ledge. I'll let you know how they do then.
