friends in the foyer

When I moved into my current apartment, there was a sad little jade plant in pot in the common foyer. It looked like no one had taken care of it in a long, long time. I'm sure the lack of sun wasn't helping much either. Before long, I added a tiny plant that someone had told me would grow big and bloom beautifully. I started watering the two regularly.

Today, a few days before I leave, both plants are thriving. The jade has grown new extensions and gotten enough energy to search for the sun. The other plant (name unknown) shot up and produced this lovely red column of blooms.

I'm hoping that when I leave another resident will take over the duties of caring for my foyer plants; they make checking for mail that much more enjoyable.

The only hope either of these plants have is if you get them on that truck and take them far away from here.
