It got cold again here, and like these birds on my neighbor's roof, I just wanted to curl up someplace warm with some comfort food. One of my favorite hearty meals to eat is Japanese curry and rice, but there's also another variation sold for a quick meal in convenience stores in Japan - curry pan, or curry rolls. These are delicious dinner rolls filled with curry, and I was craving them.
I've had some successes and failures when making these baked treats myself, but I decided to give it another go last night. I went with a pizza dough for the outside in order to get that wonderful chewy texture, and a vegetarian curry for the inside so Sam could eat them with me.
They turned out beautifully. We ate half for dinner last night and half for lunch today, and now I'm sitting here wishing I had one or two for an afternoon snack.
