working is not it's all cracked up to be

I do apologize for the lack of posting, but I have a good excuse - I got a job. It's only a temporary gig until the end of June, but it is full time, and it is taking up all my time. Why didn't someone warn me that working does actually suck up your time, energy, and desire to move from your couch in the evening?

I can't tell you exactly what I do (because I think I could get in trouble), but it is basically data entry. I sit at a computer clicking my mouse and typing in names and numbers all day. I'm in a "prairie dog town" as Sam says, and I am borrowing my digs from someone on maternity leave. I stare all day at pictures of someone else's child and his kindergarten projects, while listening to other people boast about their kids and grandkids. Due to the mindnumbing boredom of my tasks, these little conversations are the highlights of my workday.

I think the worst thing, though, is that I have to get up so early. I was taking my mid-morning break yesterday and thought, "This is what time I used to wake up." Alas, now I go to bed at 11pm and wake up at 6:30am. I guess I just have to keep reminding myself of the money I am making. I think that's really the only good point about working.
