Fun fact: The guy who invented "Chedderheads" (often incorrectly called "Cheeseheads"), the large wedges of cheese worn on the heads of many a Wisconsin sports fan, is from La Crosse. His original store is still downtown and still proudly sells Chedderheads and other cheese related paraphernalia.
