i can't say I've ever had a real cheese-steak

*Breakfast: Plain yogurt with pomegranate seeds and almonds, and pumpkin bread

*Lunch: Leftover stir-fry

*Dinner: Seitan-style Philly cheese-steak, roasted turnips, and steamed broccoli

My first real fake meat experience outside of Japan (which has wonderful tofu, of course, and gluten options if you look hard enough) was in Bloomington, Indiana. Sam introduced me to the delicacy that is Bloomingfoods bbq seitan grab-n-go. I loved the chewy texture, and the bbq sauce the used was awesome. It became a staple of my grocery shopping trips.

The closest I come to the Bfoods seitan these days is Sam's philly cheese-steak. He uses the same style of seitan, which mimics beef tips, and marinates it with a tasty vegan worchestershire sauce. Put it in a toasty bun with swiss cheese and sauteed onions and green peppers, and it is one of the meals I crave the most. Delicious.

I *love* Bloomingfoods and I miss it so much. Especially since my diet is now meatless, I really wish I had a place like that with prepped food to fall back on when I don't want to cook.
