Late Bloomer

My friend, Britt, gave me this pineapple sage plant last spring, and it basked in the sun in the backyard all summer long. It wasn't until I brought it in the house for the winter, however, that it started blooming.

I count this as a success, because I have a tendency to kill the plants that Britt gives me. I'm sending good thoughts to the strawberries and ground cherries as they settle in for the winter, and here's hoping that the mint, lemon balm, and mums make it too.
