On Saturday, the Japanese club celebrated Setsubun, a traditional Japanese spring holiday. I hosted, and of course that meant Millie got to enjoy lots of attention, both in terms of the food falling to the floor and being made to wear an oni (demon) mask.
On Setsubun, someone dresses up as the oni, and the household chases the bad luck out by throwing beans at the oni until it leaves, and then chanting a phrase to bring good luck into the house instead.
Millie wasn't the official oni for the day, but she was a pretty cute oni for a few minutes.
