storytime

I was being lazy and anti-social on Saturday night and didn't go out with the frisbee team. It's a shame I skipped it though, based on this story, told to me by one my teammates:

"We were walking back from the bars, and had just gotten to where the street goes underneath the railroad overpass. We heard something funny, and looked up to see a car driving along the railroad tracks. About 15 seconds later, it got stuck - right there in the middle of the bridge. A guy got out and started trying to push it, with no luck. So we went up and asked him if he wanted us to call a tow truck. He was drunk, obviously, and started telling us some story about his girlfriend and yadayada...during which time he turned around and started peeing. Anyway, he didn't want us to call a tow truck because he'd get in trouble. So we left him there to figure it out. Twenty minutes later we were at home getting into bed when I heard a train horn. I grabbed my friends and we ran back to the bridge. Luckily, the train had seen the car on the tracks and stopped in time, but the train conductor and the driver were standing there arguing. The conductor said he had a schedule to keep, and the driver was just drunk and not making much sense. We finally called a tow company, but when we told them the situation, they said, 'We don't do that sort of towing.' A bunch of us tried to push the car off the tracks, but we couldn't budge it. At last, someone called the cops, which is when we left. The car wasn't on the tracks this morning, so they must have figured out something."

Crazy things happen in a college town, huh?
