a clean start

In America we have Spring Cleaning. In Japan they have New Year Cleaning. Companies, community centers, houses, parks…everywhere you go you see or hear of someone cleaning. Today my landlord dropped by the clean the house.

I also hear of an old tradition where people pay off all of their debts before the New Year, but I haven’t gotten any envelopes full of money yet, so we’ll see.
