While we all know the famous pairs of words like “peanut butter and jelly,” “peas and carrots,” and “bacon and eggs,” I am told that the Japanese language has no such equivalent.
I’m tempted to create some:
“kimono to obi”
“jinja to torii” (shrine and gate)
“sushi to ocha” (sushi and green tea)
“okonomiyaki to mayonnaise”
But they just don’t have the same ring.
