“We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for this breaking news,” my TV said just as I was sitting down for an evening drink. “The program aired yesterday afternoon concerning the wonderful benefits of XX for diet and weight loss has been declared false. XX has been deemed dangerous for your health by several medical agencies. This broadcasting company deeply apologizes for supporting such a product by airing its program. Please forgive us.”
Sometimes Japan makes me feel so safe that I don’t want to leave this island. I’m afraid something bad will happen and there won’t be a sign, disembodied voice, or news bulletin to warn me about it.
