vietnam 101

Things I am learning in Vietnam:

a. Pack more than three sets of clothing for when everything gets wet and you have nothing but boxer shorts to wear.
b. Tailors are not fashion designers. When you clothes are too tight, it’s their fault. But when the color, style, and fabric don’t look good together, you have no one but yourself to blame.
c. Pack light, but leave enough room for all those things you will want to buy.
d. Make a list of the things you think you might want to buy, that way you don’t grab everything that looks cool, or refrain from buying anything because you can’t decide.
e. Two things you should always be thinking about in S.E. Asia: water and sunscreen.
f. Two dollars will not break your bank, but it could make a day’s wages for someone else.
g. One night on a bus is being cheap, two night buses in a row is being really cheap, and three night buses in a row is idiocity.
