manners of the nose

I used to hate people who constantly sniffled when their nose was running instead of just blowing it. Then I moved to Japan and learned that blowing your nose in public is rude. So I became one of those sniffling, mucus swallowers. Now I have a cold, and while I realize that it is okay for me to pull my roll of toilet paper out of my backpack and blow loudly during class, I just can’t make myself do it. Instead, I quietly sniff and snuff until class is over, annoying all of those around me.
