new year, new address

Here's my big news for the new year:

In three weeks, Sam and I will be moving to La Crosse, Wisconsin, a small city on the banks of the Mississippi River. Sam got a new librarian job there, and hopefully I'll find some employment as well.

It seems to be a nice place to live with an active downtown, some beautiful bluffs to climb and a convenient distance to some attractions my friends and relatives might be interesting in seeing. Perhaps they'll be more inclined to visit me if they realize that I live only:

2 hours from Madison
1 hour from the Wisconsin Dells and the House on the Rock
2 hours from Minneapolis
1.5 hours from the Mall of America
1.5 hours from the Spam Museum

If posts seem even more infrequent in the coming weeks, please be patient. I'm organizing, packing, dealing with landlords, notifying utilities, and doing whatever else needs to be done to facilitate a move in a such a short period of time.

And 1.5 hours from about 20 of my paternal relatives! Now if I wasn't headed to points east...

Let me know when you visit the House on the Rock. By far, the most surreal museum that I've ever been to.

Oh, I've been there. It was probably the longest day I've ever spent with my grandparents. I imagine it will be better at age 27 than age 12.

Dan and I went to the Dells. It was the home of the world's largest Trojan Horse.
