Looking for a place to live is a horrible way to spend a day, especially when that day is snowy and cold. Sam and I looked at eleven places in La Crosse before finally settling on one downtown close to work, the library, the co-op, and the YMCA. My favorite things about the apartment are the historic-looking built in cabinets on the living room doorway and the secret passage from the living room to the bathroom.
Some of the other places we looked at were crazy, for various reasons. For instance, there was the apartment above the bar where the previous occupants had kicked in cabinet doors, broken vanity mirrors, and apparently never cleaned the huge bathtub. There was the house whose furnace sounded like a monster in the basement. And my favorite, the second story apartment where the landlord lives on the first floor and comes upstairs randomly to clean, critique, and complain about the noise.
Anyway, we've got a place to live and will be moving on Friday. La Crosse, here we come!

I think you guys made the right choice. The pictures you showed me of this place were awesome. I plan on going up with you guys Friday just so I can see it with my own two eyes. Then maybe I'll believe it's real.
