getting things going

Today is Sam's first day of work, and consequently, I again gain sole control of the computer for many hours of the day. This should mean that blogging will become regular again. Unfortunately, I have three very important tasks to accomplish which will take up quite a bit of my time.

1. Find a job. I'd love to blame it on the economy (and maybe I will), but I am not finding any jobs that really play to my skill set. My cover letters basically all say the same general thing - I have some office skills, some customer service skills, and some teaching skills. What they don't say is that I have lots of experience in anything. This is making it difficult to even get an interview.

2. Find a new place to live. We have been trying, but try as we might, we have decided that we can no longer live comfortably with cigarette smoke wafting into our apartment several times a day. Our landlord has been moderately responsive to our attempts at fixing the problem, but the best thing she has done is to say she'll let us out of our lease if we cannot stand the smoke. So here I go again with the house-hunting.

3. Finally (try to) get published. I promised myself I'd edit and submit my paper to a journal by the end of February. I can do it I can do it I can do it.

Wish me luck!
