The co-op has this great $0.99 bin of slightly less than perfect fruit. I got lucky and spotted the mangoes before anyone else...There were just enough for a half gallon of wine.
Mango Wine
Date Started: Sept. 24, 2009Ingredients for a half gallon batch:
- mangos - 5 brazilian small, yellow mangos and 1/2 a regular mango
- sugar - 1.25 cups
- yeast - 1/4 tsp. (Lalvin KI-V1116)
- beginning specific gravity: 1.065
- beginning % alcohol: 9%
- vessel - BBC half gallon
