autumn flavors

I planted some squash in my garden this summer. I'd never done so before, and was unaware that if you plant different varieties of squash too close to each other, they might cross pollinate. Consequently, from the seeds of a spaghetti squash, butternut squash, and pumpkin, we ended up with spaghetti squash, butternut squash, and something green striped. We have no idea. Perhaps the stripes came from the watermelon? In any case, tonight we finally ate our one butternut squash stuffed with wild rice, cranberries, raisins, and pecans.
