Now that Deb has gotten her present in the mail, I can post these photos on my website and it will no longer ruin the surprise. This is a rug I made out of thirty-three ties donated by Sam's dad. It was my sewing project for quite a few months as I figured out the best way to work with the ties I had, the limitations of my old sewing machine, and my frustration with poorly formed geometric shapes. It is a smaller version (approx. 3ft in diameter) of the original tie rug I found randomly on the internet.

Holmes, I now need some of those neckties now that I am required to have a wardrobe yet again. Eff. I'm off to Goodwill.
