down home

Work has been a little slow the past couple of weeks, which is unfortunate for my pocketbook but wonderful for summertime activities. Sam and I have taken the opportunity to explore some of the offerings of the La Crosse area. We have:

taken a canoe down the La Crosse River
gone disc golfing at Pettibone Park
rode our bikes around the marsh
stayed up to watch the heat lightning dancing across the sky

This weekend we took a jaunt up to the Twin Cities for a wedding, spending a little time in a big Asian grocery store, eating lunch at a Thai restaurant, and enjoying the view along the Great River Road on the way home.

Next up is some gardening, some sewing, and maybe a little winemaking.
