a little colder than cooler

This weekend was the Milwaukee Cooler Classic Ultimate tournament held on the beautiful fields of the Milwaukee Polo Club. Due to the constant pouring rain and the pounding of thousands of cleats, however, they were not very beautiful when we left.

State Fair, clad in our new brown jerseys, was seeded fifth. We broke seed in pool play, beating everyone including the fourth seed. We won our first bracket game as well on Saturday, putting us at a record of four wins, zero losses. This was despite the on and off pouring rain and falling temperatures all day. On Sunday we won Quarters, but lost by two in semi-finals. We then lost the 3rd place game by one point, leaving us at fourth overall.

All and all, this was one of the best tournaments I've played in, competitively speaking. It was one of the worst for weather. I was dry for about five minutes this weekend while playing. When I went to wash my clothes this morning, they reeked from hours in plastic bags, and my shoes were coated in mud and not at all pleasant to be around.
