This summer I learned an important skill: how to sit around and actually do nothing.
I'm not talking about not doing anything productive or that requires thinking. I'm not talking about relaxing and watching tv or a movie, or reading a book. When I say doing nothing, I mean it. I learned how to sit on the couch and not feel the need to get up.
This has taken years for me to learn, and I am worried that as soon as I am back in the academic atmosphere I will be unable to sit still without thinking about things due or things that need to be done. I hope, however, that my new skill of zoning out will be an important addition to my many ways of procrastination.
