Sam and I are enthusiastic customers of our two local ice cream shops in La Crosse, the Pearl and Ranison's. But when Alden's Organic Ice Cream goes on sale at the Co-op, we stock up. Their Vanilla Bean is probably the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had, and the Peanut Butter and Chip is heavenly. If you even feel like treating yourself to some smooth, velvety, organic goodness, I strongly suggest Alden's.
And before you freak out about the price, consider that six dollars for a half gallon of happy organic ice cream is cheaper than a few ice cream cones from Baskin Robbins.
