by the apron strings

The cement guy came on Thursday last week and poured our apron.  I took several breaks from work to watch the process, and so did the little boy across the alley.  It was fun to me, but the cement guy, who has been doing this for twenty years, said it is actually quite boring.

We have to wait five days before we can drive on the cement, which gives us a bit of time to try to tidy up the muddy mess, organize the stuff in the garage, and generally feel like it is all complete before we finally pull the truck into the new garage.  Next week, perhaps?
